About Getuser

Building the app was the fun part. Then came the part nobody warned you about: getting strangers to actually see it. Getuser exists for that part. It turns one screen recording of your app into a batch of short videos for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, and posts them to your accounts at the times you choose. No filming, no editing, no creators to chase. This page covers what it does, why it exists, what it stands for, and what it costs.

What Getuser is

Getuser is a web app for people who built an app and now have to promote it. It fixes one specific, exhausting problem: posting short videos about your app every day, the thing everyone tells you to do and almost nobody can keep up while also building the product.

You give Getuser a short screen recording and five answers about your app. It gives you back a batch of vertical videos, each with a different hook line over your real app, ready for TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts. It makes slideshows too. Then it posts the ones you approve at your posting times, and learns from the views you type in which lines to use next.

How it works

  1. Tell Getuser about your app. Five short answers: what it is, who it’s for, what it fixes. Getuser turns them into hook lines that fit on screen.
  2. Upload a screen recording. Ideally 5 to 15 seconds of your app doing its best thing (up to 60 seconds and 200 MB). Getuser trims it and frames it for 9:16; it never edits it with AI.
  3. Get a batch. Up to 20 videos at once, no two alike. A video can open with a 2-second reaction from an AI-generated person, clearly AI, or with your own clip.
  4. Review every video. Edit or drop any line before it renders, and watch each video before anything goes out.
  5. Post, then learn. Getuser posts to TikTok, or Instagram from the Mid plan, at your posting times; or you download the videos and post them anywhere. Type in the views and the lines that work rise to the top of your next batch.

You can also do all of this from a chat: connect Getuser to Claude or ChatGPT and ask for a week of videos. See Getuser in Claude and ChatGPT.

Why it exists

Building an app has never been easier. Getting anyone to notice it has never been harder. And the advice is always the same, from every podcast, thread and course: post short videos every day, on TikTok, Reels and Shorts.

Fine. The advice is right. It’s just that every way of actually doing it falls apart:

  • Filming yourself eats an hour or more a day, means being on camera when you’d rather be shipping, and is the first thing to go in a busy week. Miss one week and the habit is gone.
  • Paying creators is priced per video, so every new hook costs money and days of waiting. You can afford a handful, not the dozens it takes to find the lines that work.
  • Tools that fake it are cheap and everywhere: AI people saying they’ve used your app for months, made-up reviews, invented numbers. It breaks platform rules, and in some places the law, and once viewers notice, they stop trusting you.

What daily posting actually needs is four things at once: lots of variations at a low cost per video, because most hooks flop and the only way to find out is to post them; your real app on screen, so the people who install are the people who wanted it; a schedule that keeps going while you build; and a way to see which lines worked.

Getuser is built around exactly those four. One recording of the app in, a batch of honest short videos out, posted at your times, and the numbers feed the next batch. Your time goes back into the app, and the posting still happens.

What Getuser stands for

This category is full of shortcuts that look great for a week: fake reviews, fake users, fake numbers. Getuser doesn’t do any of that, and each principle below is something the product actually does, not a slogan on a page.

  • Your real app does the selling. Your recording is trimmed and framed, never edited by AI. Viewers see exactly what they’ll get, so the people who install are the people who wanted it.
  • AI is always disclosed. The people in the reaction clips are AI-generated, and every video with one says so in its file. When Getuser posts for you, the platform’s AI label stays on.
  • No fake testimonials. An AI-generated person may react to what’s on screen; the built-in lines never have them claim they used your app, got results, or that others use it.
  • No promised views. Nobody can promise them. Getuser shows you which of your lines work, on your own account, so you decide from your own numbers.
  • Your data is yours. Only you can see your uploads. Getuser never uses them to train AI, and you can download everything or delete your account at any time.
  • Made for small teams. A free plan to try it, no card, and prices that follow your country. Paid plans give 30 days’ notice before any charge.

The details of what is AI and what isn’t are in How Getuser uses AI.

Who it’s for

A good fit: apps a stranger understands from a few seconds of screen recording: habits, study, money, health, creativity, everyday tools. Made for indie makers, solo developers and small teams who want to post daily without filming.

Not a fit: loans, investing, gambling, adult content, and medical or weight-loss claims; Getuser doesn’t make videos for them. If you sell through demos and contracts, LinkedIn will serve you better than short video.

Plans and credits

Every plan works in credits. A video or a slideshow is 25 credits; AI writing shows its price before you use it. A failed render gives its credits back.
